Hi! My name is Alexandra Baltodano and I am a Spanish Teacher and technology student. I believe technology is a great tool that can enhance education if used properly. I also believe that technology can be a great way to explore different cultures and places without having to leave home. There is nothing better than experiencing something first hand, but for those who don't have the means or are otherwise unable to, technology is a great tool that can bring the world to them. Below is a short video about me.
a little bit of my story:
ABOUT ME:
My name is Alexandra but I go by Alex. I am Graduate student in the Tech ed. Program at USC Aiken.
I have a B.A. in Spanish with a minor in Ed. from the College of Charleston. Last maymester I finished the courses here at USC Aiken I needed to add on ESOL to my certification.
I am currently a Spanish Teacher in Charleston, I am the department head of World Languages at my school. I love using technology in my classroom in any way I possibly can. I think there is great value to it and I would like to move into a leadership role to help others use technology.
I was in the Peace Corps as a TEFL teacher trainer in Nicaragua, there, I met my husband and we have been married for almost 7 years. We have a 2 year old son named Rafael. As of right now all my free time is spent with them. We just bought a house so lately all my free time has gone to projects having to do with the house or the toddler. And if I have some downtime I watch TV, crochet and crafts or read.
Me in 6 words: Compassionate
Vulnerable
Daring
Peace
Laugh
Chill
Here is a picture of me and some of my family!
